The legend of the Dream Catcher is thousands of years old. Native Americans wove them to provide dreams of goodness & beauty for their children & hung them on the child’s cradleboard. Like a spider’s web holds anything that comes into contact with it, a Dream Catcher attracts & holds bad dreams & negative energy while allowing good dreams & positive energy to pass through. Each Tribe has traditional variances associated with creating a Dream Catcher.

The following Dream Catchers, Medicine Wheels and Mandellas are crafted the traditional way.  As a Tribal member of the Cherokee Nation, I follow their tradition in making these items.  With each knot tie, an Invocation is offered to the Great Spirit, asking for blessings such as "compassion", "humility", "strength of character, "respect for all life" etc.  The energy associated with these invocations then becomes part of the Dream Catcher, and imparts those positive energies to those who come in contact with it.

Medicine Wheels

The Medicine Wheel is a Native American religious symbol. The four bars are representative of the four directions: North, South, East & West. The number four also signifies the four seasons, the four moon phases, the four winds and the four elements. Medicine wheels come in various colors and sizes. However, all are circular with a distinctive four way division.

Mandellas

The mandella is representative of a war shield made from fur, leather, feathers, and beads. Warriors would decorate them with items that held special meaning. It is believed to bring the owner happiness, prosperity and good luck. The following mandella is crafted on a 10" ring with length around  36" and incorporates a ceramic buffalo skull.  Each unique and different.
